Nikki Welch of Liskeard Junior and Inclusive Badminton Club has returned home victorious from the 4 Nations Para-Badminton Tournament held in Scotland. Nikki from Pensilva who has ADHD and a learning disability won a Gold Medal in the ladies doubles and a Silver Medal in the singles event. She also achieved 3rd place in the mixed doubles event. Nikki was supported by The Anders Foundation who provided her with £250 towards her expenses. Nikki's aim now is to compete in the World Championships which have just been announced by Badminton England to be held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in September, the birthplace of the Paralympic movement situated in Buckinghamshire. Liskeard Junior and Inclusive Badminton Club who are East Cornwall's only Premier Club are delighted for Nikki and aim do all they can to support her ambition to play at the World Championships. Her long term aim will be the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020 where Badminton will feature for the first time.
